The PTD has embarked upon its Low/No Emission Fleet Transition Plan. In December 2023, the City received its first hybrid pilot bus. PTD worked with its bus manufacturer to provide operational and safety training to bus operators. Additional hybrid buses arrived through summer 2024 and are being prepared for revenue service and transition into the transit fleet. PTD has also ordered twelve battery electric buses and twelve fuel cell electric buses (hydrogen), which are slated to arrive in mid-to-late 2025.
